PANHANDLE - Several hospitals and medical centers in our area are taking a stand against smoking by adopting a tobacco-free hiring policy. Both Baptist Healthcare and Sacred Heart Health System will no longer hire employees who smoke or use tobacco products starting January 1st. Applicants looking to work for either companies will have to take a nicotine test before they can be hired. This new policy will not affect current employees.
