Taxes eyed for electronic cigarettes
The act of smoking an electronic cigarette is called “vaping.”
People who smoke e-cigarettes are called “vapers.”
But the Oregon Department of Revenue doesn’t yet have enough information on the battery-operated devices to advise the Legislature about whether it should name vaping as tobacco consumption and thereby tax it like other tobacco products.
