(Ivanhoe Newswire) – According to an Australian study, switching cigarettes to plain brown packaging with graphic health warnings on the front not only curbs the appeal of cigarettes but also increases thoughts of quitting among smokers.
In fact, out of 536 cigarette smokers, those buying cigarettes in plain packaging were 70% more likely to say they found cigarettes less satisfying and 81% more likely to have thought about quitting smoking at least once a day during the past week when compared to individuals still buying cigarettes with name brand packaging.
