Youth Aim to Freeze Tobacco Industry
An organization called Freeze The Industry is trying to block new tobacco products from being sold in Canada.

Huron County Student Health Promoter Kyle Middegall explains the group was formed by young people in Ontario to counter advertising from the tobacco industry that is aimed specifically at young people.

Middegaal points out many of the tobacco products are now packaged in bright colors that almost make cigarettes look like candy or chewing gum. She adds in the United States they’re now testing tobacco products that look like breath strips or breath mints but are actually tobacco.

Middegaal says it’s only a matter of time before those products make their way across the border and Freeze The Industry is hoping to prevent that.

More information about the organization can be found on their web site.
