Battery-powered cigarette look-alikes, known as e-cigarettes, will now explicitly be banned at schools in the Eugene School District.
The school board on Wednesday unanimously approved revisions to the district’s tobacco policy that specifically prohibit the electronic devices that deliver nicotine to users in a vaporized form.
Before, the devices were lumped into the district’s “smokeless” tobacco category, making it unclear to school officials whether e-cigarettes were strictly prohibited.
