Indian government introduces health warnings on tobacco products
TONY EASTLEY: India is the second largest tobacco producing nation in the world and 1 million Indians die each year from cancer caused by smoking and chewing tobacco.
After a lengthy court battle, the Indian government managed to introduce mandatory health warnings on packaging.
Now an opposition MP urging even tougher measures and has introduced a private members bill based on plain packing legislation introduced in Australia.
