CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire colleges and universities are working with students and faculty to promote and adopt tobacco-free policies as part of the Great American Smoke Out this week.
Campuses are holding events and offering information Thursday about quitting tobacco. Tobacco users are being asked to quit for at least one day in the hope that it might challenge them to stop for good.
According to a 2011 Alcohol, Drugs, and Tobacco Survey at the University of New Hampshire, 15.3 percent of students indicated that they smoke every day or some days, and 18.2 percent of students indicated they smoke cigarettes while drinking alcohol
