Organization wants teens off tobacco
Guam has one of the highest rates of tobacco smoking in the nation, which is a contributor to the number of health issues on island.
"It causes many ailments, including cancers," says Youth for Youth co-founder and adviser Gayle Osborn. "Tobacco damages your health and your body's development, especially for teens that are growing. There are no health benefits, for sure.
"Also, those that do smoke don't realize that they can hurt others who don't smoke through second-hand smoking. They can hurt their family members that way and the longer you smoke, the harder it is to quit because of the addiction."
