Health survey to address tobacco effects, chronic conditions
New ways to prevent tobacco use and tobacco-related illnesses are the focus of a new statewide survey sponsored by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
The department entered into a $1.9 million contract with Abt SRBI to conduct the next two rounds of surveys statewide, one this year and one in 2016, according to Sandy Cogan, Abt spokeswoman. The Maryland Healthier Communities Survey is part of a new initiative by the state and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to improve the lives of Maryland residents.
