Sacramento County survey finds sales of tobacco to youths
A survey of businesses in four Sacramento County cities and the unincorporated area found that 11 percent of those surveyed sold tobacco to minors.
The annual youth purchase survey was conducted in December 2012 as part of the county Division of Public Health's Tobacco Education Program.
It involved sending underage student volunteers and adult chaperones to all stores known to sell tobacco products in the cities of Folsom, Citrus Heights, Galt and Isleton, as well as a random sampling of stores in the unincorporated area of the county.
