Health officials hit back at e-cig claims
Leading health campaigners have been labelled zealots and sent abusive emails from those who oppose their stance on electronic cigarettes amid fierce debate about the devices.
While proponents claim e-cigarettes are an effective cessation aid, Australian Council on Smoking and Health president Michael Daube says some research concludes they can normalize a practice that is increasingly frowned upon and encourage young people to smoke the real thing.
