Norfolk raids find illegal tobacco in shops and homes
More than 50,000 suspected illegal cigarettes have been seized in raids on shops and homes in a Norfolk resort.
Trading standards, supported by revenue and customs officers, carried out the raids in Great Yarmouth on Thursday.
Five shops were visited during the day in King Street and St Peter's Road as well as homes in and around the area.
Mobile phones and computers were also seized to discover the source of the illegal tobacco which officers described as potentially dangerous.
David Collinson, of Norfolk Trading Standards, said: "These products are often fake and completely unregulated.
"They can be full of damaging toxins from additives and they can be manufactured in unsafe, unhygienic conditions."
