The North Dakota Senate unanimously passes a bill to prohibit the sale of electronic smoking devices and alternative nicotine products to minors.
The measure prohibits the products from being sold in open displays.
It also requires child resistant packaging.
Carrier of the Senate Judiciary Committee's "Do-Pass" recommendation says the measure is meant to keep the products out of the reach of children.
"Your committee heard testimony how small quantities of this liquid nicotine can actually be fatal. We heard of the passing of a small child out East from just that," says Sen. John Grabinger (D) Jamestown.
The bill already passed the House in February and now goes to the Governor's desk.
