Grocery store chain to stop tobacco sales

news10.net – 16 de Febrero de 2015 – EEUU

You won't find cigarettes and tobacco chew on the store shelves of Raley's, Bel Air and Nob Hill Foods by the end of February, according to Raley's.

The West Sacramento-based grocery store chain has made the decision to cease sales of tobacco products to promote health and wellness.

Many customers in the parking lot of the Natomas Boulevard location on Friday thought the news was positive.

"Being a non-smoker, it doesn't affect me, but being around second hand smoke can be a little bit annoying, so I think it's a good move," shopper Robert Stevenson said.

Smaller liquor stores nearby are looking forward to possible sales coming their way.

"It'll help us a little bit you know," Select Wine & Spirits manager Manny Gaara said.

Smokers on the other hand are not as happy.

"The fact that they're not selling tobacco products anymore its actually kind of disappointing," Branden Hooker said. "I think for some reasons, it could be good for those who don't smoke. But honestly, for people who do, its going to be a lot harder."
