All schools in J&K to be tobacco free
On the instructions of the Minister of State for School Education, Feroz Ahmad Khan, an anti-tobacco sensitizing campaign to make all schools tobacco free was organized by J&K Voluntary Health Association and VHAI, New Delhi under the Chairmanship of Commissioner Secretary Education, Hirdesh Kumar Singh.

Advisor, State SSA Mission, Mohammad Rafi, Director RMSA, Director SSA, Special Secretary Education, Chief Education Officers of all the District of the State and other senior officers of Education Department attended the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Hirdesh Kumar said that Cigarette and Other Tobacco Product Act(COPTA) has been strictly implemented making it mandatory that all education institutions are tobacco free and nobody smokesin and around education Institutions. He instructed all the Heads of the institutions, CEO, Directors that if anybody is found smoking cigarette or chew sany other tobacco product near the institutions they are free to register complain with the concerned Police Station.
