Suffolk County hearings set on tobacco purchase law
The first chance for the public to weigh in on Suffolk County Legislator William "Doc" Spencer's proposed law to raise the age to purchase tobacco and e-cigarettes to 21 is Feb. 6.
The law will be up for discussion that day at a Suffolk County Health Committee meeting at 2:30 pm, according to an email from Mark Malizia, a legislative aide to Spencer (D-Centerport).
On Feb. 11, a public hearing on the proposed legislation will take place at the general meeting of the Suffolk County Legislature at 2:30 pm, Malizia said.
