EDMONTON - Alberta retailers sell tobacco products to minors more frequently than anywhere else in the country, a Health Canada-commissioned study says.

The results are “troubling,” especially after the province added a ban to sell tobacco to minors in November 2014, prompted by Health Canada’s moratorium on enforcing its own federal ban two years prior, Alberta Health Minister Sarah Hoffman said Monday.
