Anti-tobacco initiative puts teens undercover

toacorn.com - 22 de Julio de 2015 – EEUU

Teens may be their own secret weapon in the fight to stop youth smoking.

A group of Ventura County teenagers devoted some of their spring and summer breaks to go undercover in Camarillo, Moorpark and Simi Valley to try to buy tobacco products at a variety of local stores.

They did it to help the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office and the Ventura County Public Health Department better understand how and where teens are buying cigarettes.

The teens, members of the law enforcement Explorer Scout program, visited area businesses and attempted to buy cigarettes in April and June.
