Council to discuss limits on e-cigarettes
Following a wave of local communities that have placed moratoriums on new retailers wanting to sell electronic cigarettes, or vaporizers, the Long Beach City Council on Tuesday will take up a proposal that could tighten regulation of the tobacco-free, battery-operated pipes.
The proposal – though not specific on the proposed agenda item listed – would generally add e-cigs to the definition of tobacco products, change a tobacco retailers' permit and impose conditions on the display of tobacco products as well as prohibit the use of such devices in no-smoking areas.
