CPD enforces tobacco law
The Center Police Department is now participating with the Texas State Comptroller’s Office to ensure that businesses and individuals in the City of Center are following tobacco laws. Center Police Officer Jim Blackwell is now the Tobacco Compliance and Education Officer at the Center Police Department who is heading up this enforcement.
“On [Oct. 9] we did training. I hand delivered [a letter] to 27 vendors that we have in the City of Center inviting them to a vendor workshop. 10 people showed up [including],” said Officer Blackwell. “We provided to them at no cost a packet from the Comptroller’s Office, which has everything they need to be in compliance.”
