A scaled-back version of a bill restricting electronic cigarette use passed an Illinois House committee on Tuesday.
Rep. Kathleen Willis, D-Addison, introduced House Bill 2404 in February limiting electronic cigarette use, or “vaping,” to outdoors, similar to tobacco products. The representative said after proposing the bill, she received thousands of phone calls and emails regarding the matter.
She called an amended version before the committee that limits vaping only on school grounds and in common areas of state-owned facilities.
